This app prototype, built with Flutter on Android Studio, was developed as part of the Project ID: Connecting the Dots module. It aims to encourage students (and staff) to give back to society by:
- allowing them to discover a wide range of volunteering and giving opportunities from community service groups (e.g. LEO Club, Food aid club)
- Allow them to find giving events that suit their interests and availability
- Sign up for giving events (and invite friends too) in just a few clicks
- Allowing them to reflect on their volunteering experience by answering short reflection questions at the end of the activity (points will be earned upon submission of the reflection)
- Learn soft skills and earn certificates through giving events
- Manage profiles of giving groups (e.g. posts, bio, social links)
- Allowing application of new giving groups through the platform
Building this platform required understanding the issue in detail, collecting data to support the pain points, and reiterating some of the prototype features several times. It also allowed me to hone my Flutter/Dart programming skills for the Mobile Application Programming module, as I was initially weak at it.
The prototype is live at https://proid-npact.gregoryleexs.xyz
